Winter Newsletter 2021

Welcome to the Winter update from the team at Somerset Prepared. We hope that everyone has had a great Christmas break, and Happy New Year!

As we say goodbye to 2020, it's a great opportunity to reflect on what we've learnt and how we've grown. If 2020 has taught us anything, it's that we need to be prepared for anything! The fresh start of a new year is a great time to review our own personal, community and business preparations for dealing with emergencies, particularly in the COVID-19 context and with the winter weather. New year, new plan?

Have a look at our Get Prepared pages to help you along the way. Also check out our Funding Support  page to learn more about out small grant schemes to help communities to become more prepared.

Best wishes,

Somerset Local Authorities' Civil Contingencies Unit

Are you Flood Ready?

Rotary Clubs in Somerset have a supply of flood packs to homes which are in danger of flash floods. The pack consists of compact, self-inflating bags which can be used to protect homes against flash floods. They can even be strung together to form a wall! To find our more, please email david303welch@btinternet.com
