The Somerset Prepared Award is up and running for its second year! The award recognises people or groups who have gone above and beyond to help their community be better able to deal with emergencies. Issued by the Somerset Prepared partnership, the award will be presented at the 2023 Somerset Community Resilience Day on October 5th, at Wincanton Racecourse, with the winners receiving a large hamper of Somerset produce or voucher for community activities.
Perhaps it’s your local flood group, who always make sure the flood plan is up to date. It might be someone on the Parish or Town Council who can be counted on to think ahead and make plans for whatever might happen, or someone who has set up an initiative to make sure your community knows who is vulnerable and might need help in an emergency.
