The Met Office is helping people get WeatherReady with a series of handy tips to help prepare for cold, snow and storms. The campaign, which is supported by the Cabinet Office, is a key method that helps the public stay informed on severe weather and what can be done to prepare.

Weather Health Alerts
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) provides a Weather Health Alerting System which provides early warnings when adverse temperatures are likely to impact on the health and wellbeing of the population. The Weather-Health Alerting System is made up of the Heat-Health Alerts (HHA) and the Cold-Health Alerts (CHA).
Alerts are categorised into No Alert, Yellow Alert, Amber Alert & Red Alert. You can view the current alerting situation here: Weather Health Alerts | UKHSA Data Dashboard

Flood Alerts
The following website contains a lot of useful information about how to prepare yourself for flooding as well as what to do during or after a flood :Flooding – GOV.UK
You can sign up to receive flood warnings are issued by text, phone or email. Messages about flooding from rivers, the sea or groundwater, depending on your area are shared but not for surface water flooding (sometimes known as ‘flash flooding’).
